ad post

The Samuel Adams beer ad pictured below says a lot without using words.  This ad depicts seven cold Samuel Adams beer bottles wearing football helmets. The bottles are standing in a group formation reminding the viewer of a football team lining up at the line of scrimmage.  This ad is simple and elegant and catches the eye of the football fan. The bottles grouped together remind the viewer that watching football can be as much of a team activity as playing football. Social drinking can be a part of that bonding experience. A further message that this add subtly is trying to get across is that’s along with football being a great American past time, Samuel Adams Beer is a quality American beer. Samuel Adams himself was American founding father. With football being such and American sport and part of our nations culture, it only makes sense that Americans wanting a premium beer buy Samuel Adams instead of a going with an imported beer By linking Samuel Adams, a premium beer, with the game of football, the ad is trying to connect the two in the mind of the consumer. People get in to habits when it comes to social drinking. People may drink certain beers in college or at a barbeque or at a sporting event. This ad attempts to persuade the viewer to think of picking up a few packs of slightly more expensive Samuel Adams on the way to watching the big game, breaking the habit of picking up their usual brand. This promises that by drinking Samuel Adams beer you create a bond with your friends and enjoy a masculine, all- American, high quality, football watching experience.
